Lord Dunabunk When it comes to Black Metal, beautiful isn't a word often used but the use of melody, rhythm with great wordship with the lyrics are something to behold - this with riffs that grab you by the lapel followed by growls that make you sit up and listen. Hard to find a favourite track as they are all as gifted as the next but 'Behind the Walls' stands out as the song that has that anthemic, yet traditional, tribal black metal go to song. Worth the investment - cannot wait for the next instalment... Favorite track: Behind the Walls.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II! Ryan
